Aeroponics First Planting Progress Day 4

Aeroponics Plant Progress

Another day of growth but today you can really see the the leaves starting to come out. The roots are longer but have no forking yet. Same old same old. I’m glad a few are surviving to show that we aren’t completely crazy. Though, at this rate I think the most stunted dirt-grown plants will beat us!

Here are some pictures:

Same old same old…

Notice the little leaflet struggling to free itself. Hope it makes it!

And now for something that has nothing to do with plants!

And now for something completely different! On the right, a Cornish Cross meat bird…on the left, a Polish buff laced. The two birds are the same age!

The amount of food the meat birds eat is staggering. They are truly bread for nothing but eating. They don’t survive well past a certain age cause of their underdeveloped digestive track and overdeveloped muscles. Crazy. But they taste good!

And here’s a shot of the flock we have! Well over half of these little chicks will become meat for our plats!

That’s it for today. Stay safe and sustainable!
